Yes, you heard right. The super hit Jodi of Bollywood versatile actress Katrina Kaif and khiladi Akshay Kumar is back with the second part of blockbuster hit Singh Is Kinng.

Anees Bazmi is too busy and thus Vipul Shah has decided to direct the film.

Confirming the buzz about the sequel, Vipul said, “Yes, after much planning and plotting, and two years since the first film, we’ve finally cracked an idea that works. My writer Suresh Nair and I are happy with what we’ve come up with. And yes I’ll be directing the sequel.”

Director Vipul Shah is creating a sequel to his movie ‘Singh is King’, which according to critics proved to be an average movie. Shah has roped in two famed actors of the Bollywood industry, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, for Singh is King 2, as he felt that it was necessary for both to be present in the much awaited sequel. Apparently, SIK2 will be created on a larger scale than SIK, with the script already written to start shooting.

However, the pair will now be seen on the silver screen in Venus Records and Tapes’ owner Ratan Jain’s next multi-starrer titled ‘De Dana Dan’. This is going to be a comedy with a huge cast of seniors including great comedian Paresh Rawal, pretty girls – Neha Dhupia and Sameera Reddy- and also the tinsel town’s macho man Sunil Shetty! However, Priyadarshan will direct this time as he is known for laughter riot movies.

After a slew of out and out comedies like Namastey London, Partner and Singh Is Kinng, Katrina Kaif is now working on two “difficult” films – Prakash Jha’s political drama Rajneeti and Rajkumar Santoshi’s romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani- and the actress wants to devote extra time and thought to the projects.

“This year I would like to allocate time to big films. The kind of films I am doing – Rajneeti and Ajab Prem… are a little more difficult. They need time and also a little more thought process,” said Katrina. The films are slated for release this year.
