Katrina Kaif is no stranger to films down South. In fact, her debut was with the Telugu movie Malleswari paired with Venkatesh. The movie’s lukewarm response effectively nipped her career in the South. Then Katrina moved over to Bollywood and firmly entrenched herself there.

Now the buzz is that Katrina has been approached by Ghajini director A.R. Murugadoss with a role opposite Suriya in a production venture of Udhayanidhi Stalin. Sources say Katrina has been impressed with the success of Ghajini and the abilities of this director. For Kats, this is her big chance to shine in the South after the failure of Malleswari. It remains to be seen if the Murugadoss magic works for Katrina as it did for Asin.
