While Katrina Kaif’s moves in last year’s hit song “Sheila Ki Jawani” were widely praised, some in the Hindi film fraternity found the entire number distasteful. Those same critics are shaking their heads again at the announcement that not only is Katrina dancing to “Chikni Chameli” in Karan Johar’s remake of Agneepath, but that the item number will be even raunchier and ruder than Sheila.

In “Sheila Ki Jawani” (the only memorable thing to come out of the trainwreck that was Tees Maar Khan), Katrina Kaif showed off her newly acquired belly dancing skills and declared “I’m too sexy for you–ain’t nobody got a body like Sheila!”

In “Chikni Chameli” Katrina will no doubt go even further. “Chikni” is slang for a super sexy girl, so expect to see Kat dress the part. What doesn’t sound sexy about the number is that it will feature Katrina opposite Sanjay Dutt. While Sanju is a great many things, sexy he is not (at least not as much as he used to be). His Agneepath avatar looks terrifying–it’ll be interesting to see how the song comes together.

For his part, Karan Johar is thrilled. This week he tweeted his excitement about what he’s surely hoping will be the hyped item number of the season:

“Katrina Kaif is doing a full on item song in Agneepath… It’s a total swinging number called ‘Chikni Chameli’… we shoot it in a week!!”

Kissing scenes in Bollywood have always made tabloid headlines. So it’s not surprising that the lip-lock shared between Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD) too is creating ripples. But Katrina is not amused and remains completely unfazed. The actor feels too much

attention is being given to the scene.

“Why give it so much importance? I don’t feel the sequence is even worth talking about. People won’t watch the film only for the kiss, I can promise you that. Personally too, I don’t give it any attention. People will come only if they are interested in the film, like the promos, or if they like the vibe of the film,” she says. “It’s part of an actor’s job.”

Of late, talks have been rife that the makers of ZNMD were confused about the Hrithik-Katrina kiss. They were believed to be in two minds regarding how much of the elaborate sequence should be retained in the film. But apparently, the kiss remains unedited in the final version.

This is not the first time Katrina has locked lips in a film. Her kiss with Gulshan Grover in her debut film, Boom (2003) was deleted from the initial versions of the DVDs , but is reportedly set to appear in the new versions. But she wasn’t bothered about her first on-screen kiss being made public too. “What’s there to react? And what’s new about those scenes?” she had said a couple of months ago. The actor had further added that she doesn’t deny having done scenes in the past she wasn’t comfortable with.

But Katrina is clearly excited to share screen space with Hrithik for the first time. “He is an amazingly talented person. I always wanted to work with him and I’m happy to have got the opportunity now. You can really learn a lot about focus, concentration and dedication from him,” she says. As ZNMD gears up for release, director Zoya Akhtar and her team have been serving up several promotional activities, including a tie-up with UTV Movies and the entire cast going on a road trip from Mumbai to Gurgaon. Ask Katrina about working with her second female director after Farah Khan (Tees Maar Khan, 2010) and she shrugs, “A female or male director… that’s not important to me. Actually, I don’t see any difference. You are either a good director or you are not, and hopefully I have met a good director (in Zoya Akhtar).”

Aamir Khan wants to add an item song to Delhi Belly, and nephew Imran Khan has a great suggestion Katrina Kaif.

Some were intimating that Aamir Khan himself do the item song but Imran had the much better and prettier idea. He thinks that the curvaceous Katrina Kaif should be the item girl in Delhi Belly. Why you may ask? Well Imran is quick to respond saying, “Katrina’s jawaani is very attractive”.

And for those who wonder why Katrina over Aamir, well Imran quips, “Of course, Katrina, she is more curvaceous”, a deserved answer for a senseless comparison. Tees Maar Khan may not have done wonders but Sheila Ki Jawani sure did.

Imran Khan is currently filming Mere Brother Ki Dulhan with Katrina Kaif and has made it clear on many an occasion about how at ease at he is around his co-star. Her beauty definitely makes bonding easy!

While the search for the item girl continues, Imran and co. have launched the Bhaag DK Bose song video from Delhi Belly. The song has taken an innovative twist to turn a popular Bengali name into an expletive. DK Bose has connected with the youth and has become an instant hit on the Internet!

Who knows Aamir may drop the idea of an item song all together.

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif’s onscreen magic that ensured packed houses for their films like Namastey London and Singh Is Kingg seems to have fizzled out with flops like De Dana Dan and Tees Maar Khan.

Perhaps to revive this magic, Akshay has been prodding producer-director Vipul Amrutlal Shah to make the film’s sequel. Now, Shah, who’s never been gung-ho about making sequels of his hit films, has finally succumbed to Akshay’s demand and decided to go ahead with Namastey London 2.

Shah is reportedly in the process of writing the script. The original movie was about a rustic Punjabi lad winning over his rich and pampered London bride (Kat). In the sequel, the character of Akshay and Katrina will go through matrimonial troubles that will be the source of humour and drama in the story.

Though Shah and Akshay have virtually green-lit the project, Katrina hasn’t yet been informed of their plan for the sequel. It’s not because she won’t be part of the sequel. But because Shah and Akshay want to surprise her as she herself has been asking Shah to make the film’s sequel.

Shah is currently busy with his production Force, starring John Abraham. After he’s done with this film, he will set out to direct Namastey London 2. Till that time, he will work on the script.

After her hit item number Sheila Ki Jawani in Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan, golden girl of Bollywood Katrina Kaif will once again be seen doing an item number in Shirish Kunder’s Joker.

As per reports, Katrina will be seen doing an item number in Shirish Kunder’s upcoming film Joker. The film is produced by Farah Khan and Akshay Kumar and stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.

Farah Khan who choreographed hit item numbers like Munni Badnaam and Sheila ki Jawani, will also choreograph this item number in Joker with Sonakshi Sinha and Katrina Kaif.

With both hotties on board, the item number is sure going to be even more sizzling.

People still talk of Katrina Kaif’s Sheila Ki Jawani performance in Tees Maar Khan long after the film was released. But now, the news is doing the rounds that Deepika Padukone is trying to look hotter than her in her next film.

It is said that Deepika has been roped in to do Zeenat Aman’s hit number “Dum Maaro Dum” in Rohan Sippy’s film by the same name. And if we are to go by the first look of the film, it looks like Deepika can beat Katrina. She looks hot with the title of the film written on her well-toned body.

Deepika is sure to spice up Dum Maaro Dum starring Abhishek Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Bipasha Basu and Prateik Babbar. Watch out for her sizzling performance when it hits the theatres on April 22.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have gone for splits Ville but the two have been mature enough to maintain the right amount of silence and dignity about their relationship. The two were seen together in a song for Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ and will get closer, though on-screen, for Yash Raj films where they will be seen as the romantic lead in the flick to be directed by Kabir Khan.

Reportedly, Katrina has signed two movies for the banner. The second one stars Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina, and will be directed by Yash Chopra. The buzz states that where the Salman-Katrina starrer will belong to the action-thriller-romance category, the film with Shah Rukh will be an out and out romantic on.

It may be mentioned here that Salman had once refused ‘Chak De India’ with YRF banner because of their policy of paying the actors below the market price but with changing times, the banner has also changed its policy and so we will now have Salman and Katrina under this banner!!

Katrina Kaif might be reigning the roost in Bollywood, but she had to face rejection at MasterChef India anchored by Akshay Kumar.

The judges spat the omelette that she had personally whipped up on the show after tasting it, leaving Kaif almost in tears.

That is the only thing I can make in the kitchen. And I’m very confident about my omelettes. When everyone on MasterChef hated its taste, I was devastated. I felt humiliated.”

It can be called a co-incidence of sorts that most of the films that have done well at the ticket window this year star heroines whose names start with the initial K.

Starting with the most experienced Kajol who started the year on a high with the hit MY NAME IS KHAN, where she was paired with her favourite co-star Shah Rukh Khan. She did disappoint a bit with her second and third release, WE ARE FAMILY and TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO, but her super sensitive act as Mandira in MNIK saved the day for Kajol and her fans.

Then comes the most successful and certainly the numero-uno heroine of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif, who has a super hit in form of RAAJNEETI and her latest release TEES MAAR KHAN too has embarked upon a historic start netting almost 40 crore during the first weekend itself, second only to the biggest DABANGG.

Hordes of fans of the two stars thronged the hotel in which the duo stayed and as the situation was about to turn worse Akshay and Katrina were not allowed to come out of the hotel.

In another incident, Katrina Kaif, during her visit to Dubai recently on her mission of promoting the cited film, had to face an annoying situation. She was surrounded by a mob at a local mall and they would not let her go. Katrina’s make-up man had to intervene to rescue her. He accompanied her back to the hotel room she stayed.
