ajab_prem_ki_ghazab_kahani_movie_photo_00Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have benefited from the chartbusting music in most of their films. In fact the entire buzz around Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is all thanks to its fresh pair – as both Ranbir and Katrina are immesenly popular with urban audiences. And then there is Pritam, who will be expected to score some sensational tracks for this gorgeous couple.

Tips Films Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is no 9 on PLANET M charts

The songs from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani are already on their way to topping the charts. The official PLANET M records state that ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ is on the number 9 position in spite of just entering the charts a week ago.

A source from the label confirms “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani CD’s have not yet reached all zones in India as they were released just a week ago on the 9th October. This is very good news that the film’s music is doing so well even when it has entered the charts just recently. The album has a mix of fun songs, dance numbers and romantic melodies.”

The tall and trendy couple Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif seemed to have quite some chemistry on the promos we have seen for “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.” The movie promises to be one of the wackiest romantic comedies to date. With all the love and fun, who better to compose the soundtrack than Pritam?
What We Think:
Take a quick glance at the track listing for “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” and you will see that it has 14 songs! We took a closer look and noticed that of those 14 songs, seven are original tracks, five are remixes, one is an ‘unplugged version,’ and one is a remake. Nevertheless each song should have a different sound, and they all do. Let’s start with the hot tune “Main Tera Dhadkan Teri,” which features the vocals of rapper Hard Kaur, K.K., and Sunidhi Chauhan. Both the remix and the original will get the crowds all worked up at the clubs.

5ee_shahid-katrina-bigShahid and Katrina are on cloud nine after their critical releases, Kaminey & New York respectively. Both movies did great at the box office giving Bollywood one of its recognized films and proving the duo’s astonishing acting skills. Well adding to the fame, Shahid and Katrina both received the 12th annual Rajiv Gandhi National Award on August 19th, 2009. The event took place at the National Centre for Performing Arts located in Mumbai itself.

New York’s music falls flat

16ny2A couple of days back, as I was surfing through music channels, I came across a song being played simultaneously on three networks. I settled for one channel. On screen were three characters, who seemed to have just been set free from Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. The film is titled New York.

For all those who are being fed an overdose of the Hai Junoon remix, which every other channel claims to have exclusive access to (including my local cablewallah), there’s nothing much to drive home about the film’s music. Pritam and Pankaj Awasthi’s music is a big letdown.
