Actress Katrina Kaif is upset with a report that she cancelled the shoot for Yash Raj Films’ Mere Brother Ki Dulhan because her favourite make-up man Subhash was unavailable as he had booked his dates for Anushka Sharma.

Katrina, 27, said people should not pull her down by writing such false stories and should give her respect considering her contribution to the industry.

“That was something really disheartening. I am not that kind of person who ever stood up and says, ‘Look what I have done, look at me’ or asked for any kind of respect or recognition or walked around with any kind of ego.

“But when I see people stoop down to that level and write these kind of stories, that’s the only time I feel that I am not asking for recognition, but a little bit of respect after these years I have worked in the industry. Please don’t pull me down to this level,” Katrina told IANS.

The actress entered Bollywood in 2003 with Boom. Though Boom bombed, she went on to deliver hits like Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, Race and Raajneeti.

Releasing Sep 9, the directorial debut of Ali Abbas Zafar, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a comedy where Katrina is teamed up with Imran Khan and Pakistani singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar.

The current favourite of YRF, Katrina, will be also seen in their Ek Tha Tiger opposite Salman Khan and Yash Chopra’s next undeclared directorial venture opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan. She has teamed up with Anushka in the latter.

“Anushka is a lovely girl, starting off her career now,” she said.

Top Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, 27, has been named India’s most beautiful woman by the Indian edition of People Magazine.

The top 10 list includes leading actress Kareena Kapoor in second place. Kapoor topped the list last year.

Of mixed British and Indian parentage, the Hong Kong-born Kaif started out as a model and after her film debut in the disastrous 2003 release Boom, her career took off with major hits such as 2007′s Namastey London followed a year later by Singh Is Kinng, cementing Kaif’s status as a top box office draw.

Kaif told People Magazine that her role models include Penelope Cruz, “I’ve always loved her style. She doesn’t look overdone or over-processed. She looks so natural.”

Kaif’s upcoming films include romcom Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (My Brother’s Bride) and Ek Tha Tiger (Once There Was A Tiger) in which she co-stars with top Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

Katrina Kaif may be the darling of one of the biggest production houses of Bollywood — Yash Raj Films — but, she has been rubbing a lot of people the wrong way recently. She refused films with Anees Bazmee (Thank You), Abbas Mustan (The Italian Job remake) and now she has said no to Prakash Jha who gave her the super hit Raajneeti.

Our source said, “Katrina is known to be very professional. However, of late she has been committing to projects and then backing out. It all started with Anees Bazmee’s Thank You which she had agreed to doing, but opted out at the last minute. Anees was furious but kept quiet. Then, Abbas-Mustan waited for eight months to start shooting, only to have her walk out of their film. The director duo blasted her in print. Now she has walked out of Prakash Jha’s Aarkshan which she had agreed to do earlier. This has shocked Jha but he is maintaining a dignified silence.

The source said, “Katrina is making enemies in the industry. All these directors have given her hit films. Bazmee gave her Welcome and Singh is Kinng when she was a nobody. The competition is heating up with Sonam, Deepika and Sonakshi, but Katrina seems to be on a different trip altogether.”

Actress Katrina Kaif has now ditched her Raajneeti director Prakash Jha. She had Jha’s upcoming film Arakshan soon after the release of Rajneeti but now she is reported to have walked out of the film.

This has definitely come as shock to the filmmaker but he is maintaining a dignified silence on the same. The film is a political thriller that focuses on issues of reservation and was scheduled to start by the end of this year yet again in Bhopal. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn.

Now what’s wrong with the girl that she simply ditching the directors with whom she had landmark successes of her career! Recently she has also walked out of Abbas Mastan’s Italian Job; the duo is instrumental with Race in her lustrous career. Even before that she refused to do Thank You at the last minute for Anees Bazmi, with whom she got successed like Welcome and Singh is Kinng.
She has dumped all these prominent directors only to do Yash Raj Film’s next project with co-stars Imran Khan and Ali Zaffar. Now please somebody tell her that Yashraj Films is no more block-buster delivering production house.

Earlier we had reported how Katrina, who was slated to play the female lead in Italian Job remake, ditched the directing pair Abbas- Mustan and left them in lurch.

Her fans were still wondering on her decision of letting go off such a pivotal role that a new report surfaced which revealed that Kat continues to follow her dumping spree and has dumped Aarakshan- Prakash Jha’s upcoming venture this time around.

There is no denying the fact that Kat’s earlier flick ‘Rajneeti’ with this National award winning director created quite a stir and she delivered a strong performance in it .Her image transformation from a glam- doll to a simple and sober look in the film fetched her many accolades. Prior to the release of ‘Rajneeti’, she had signed ‘Aarakshan’ where she was to be seen alongside ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ and ‘Ajay Devgan’. But the latest buzz has it that Kat has walked off on Prakash and left this political thriller midway. “She (Katrina) has walked out of Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan which she had agreed to do earlier. This has shocked Jha but he is maintaining a dignified silence,” a source told Deccan Chronicle.

Katrina also walked out of Anees Bazmi’s Thank You, with whom she had given two blockbuster films- Welcome and Singh is Kinng, in the past. For the time being, Katrina is on board for a Yash Raj untitled flick opposite Imran Khan and Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ opposite Akshay Kumar.

The number also has Akshay Kumar in it, and now stands completed to the satisfaction of director Farah Khan.

‘Tees Maar Khan’ is the first film of Katrina Kaif with Farah Khan and she seems to be hooked to the style of working of the ace director. Akshay Kumar, who has given several hit films with Katrina Kaif (like ‘Welcome’, ‘Singh Is Kinng’, ‘Namaste London’), plays the lead in the film.

The chemistry between Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif has always been excellent. In fact, analysts view their pairing as that of Hema Malini and Dharmendra in earlier times.

The pairing is like lady with a tender look and man with a desi touch, especially Punjabi touch, which Akki exudes in ample measure.

Though professionally Katrina Kaif is on cloud nine but on the personal front, the lady has been undergoing a crisis after her breakup with Salman Khan.

Though she is secure and upwardly mobile in her bollywood career but without Salman Khan’s influence, she would certainly feel the pinch of bollywood.

Hopefully, her rocking films like ‘Tees Maar Khan’ and co- stars like Akki will make her comfortable.

Bollywood beauty queen Katrina Kaif, who is delivering more hits than any other actress in the industry, said she is not comfortable acting on small screen.

The beautiful actress who stays in news more for her personal reasons than professional says that her limit on small screens would be restricted only to ads.

Katrina recently expressed her desire to get married and reportedly said that she’ll be married in the next two years.

On asked about what she meant by getting married in a couple of years, she said, “Actually I am the one to blame. I was the one who had said that maybe I would be married in two years time. But things are different now and there is still time before I get married. As the saying goes, ‘man proposes, God disposes’, every time we make a plan God changes it.”

She adds, “I have learnt not to make plans in life, because a lot of time you make a plan that is not going to work for you. Right now I am working on my career and trying to be genuine to my work. If you respect what you have got, God will give you what you need.”

Katrina’s next is Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti’. On asked about the film and her hardwork for serious cinema, Kat said “When one works in a serious film people think that maybe more work has gone into it. But the fact is that to make a successful film is the hardest thing. Every film of mine which has been a success has been equally hard – be it ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ and ‘Singh is Kinng’ or ‘New York’ and ‘Raajneeti’.

Whether it’s a comedy or a serious film, moviemaking is a serious business and there is lot of money dragging on it. I give it my 100 percent.”

Katrina denied all the rumors about her link-up with co-star Ranbir Kapoor.

“All those reports are totally untrue. I don’t know where these stories come from?” she said.

Katrina will enter into ‘Rajneeti’ from June 4 when the film releases.

Earlier, Katrina Kaif’s Hindi had heavy British accent and hence most of the producers preferred to work with other actresses. Even if they decided to work with Katrina, they would ensure that dubbing was done by someone with natural native accent in Hindi, so that the character did not seem outlandish on celluloid.

Katrina Kaif is also busy with Farah Khan’s latest directorial venture ‘Tees Maar Khan’(opposite Akshay Kumar), which requires her to perform in Madhuri Dixit style. In fact, Farah has already supplied some of choicest Madhuri’s dances on DVD to Katrina to prepare for the job.

Katrina has also bagged a lucrative endorsement deal with Lux brand and now onwards will be its ambassador for its anti ageing soap. This is another positive factor for Katrina Kaif as Lux brand is a sort of indication for the bollywood beauties that they have reached the pinnacle of success in the tinsel town and are being counted among the best.

The news that has been doing the rounds for sometime now is about the search for the heroine of Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder’s flick Tees Maar Khan. The film has been in news since its announcement. First it was Akshay replacing SRK as the lead, followed by the ‘namesake’ casting coup, wherein Akshaye Khanna was roped in for the film.

As far as the heroine for the film was concerned, the rumor mills went overboard with names that ranged from Sonam Kapoor to Deepika Padukone and likes. But, according to Bollywood Hungama’s confirmed sources it is neither Sonam, nor Deepika, because it is Katrina Kaif! When we spoke to Shirish to confirm the news, all that he said was, “I cannot say anything right now. I can only speak about it in a couple of days.” Our source also went onto add that the trio of Akshay, Katrina and Farah have shot a cover page shoot for a daily (which is supposed to be out in a couple of days) to announce the coming on board of Katrina as Tees Maar Khan’s leading lady.

With Katrina coming on board, expectations are bound to be sky-high about Tees Maar Khan, considering the hit track record that Akki-Katz have delivered in the past, like Namastey London, Welcome and Singh Is Kinng to name a few. What remains to be seen is that will Tees Maar Khan follow suit or will it create a new track record?
