Her first movie was BOOM and was a big flop but Katrina proved her attitude and hard work in her two Telugu Movies ‘Malliswari’ and ‘Pidugu’. She was the first actress in South Indian Cinema who had got 70 Lakh (highest amount so far) in a debut.

Not she a shining star of Indian Cinema and brand ambassador of many famous brands like Lakme, Veet, Kodak, Samsung, Slice, Spice Mobiles. In year 2005 she was chosen as face of the year for Lakme Fashion week.
Google has announced that in 2009 the most searched celebrity of Indian cinema was Katrina Kaif.

After having worked with Katrina Kaif in the recently completed political based flick ‘Rajneeti’, director Prakash Jha is on a roll again, to cast her in his next flick too.
Reportedly, the director is all charged up to take on a new project, which too will be a politically inclined film.
The director is also planning to bring in the star of the millennium, Amitabh Bachchan, as the doting father of an equally doting daughter, Katrina Kaif, in his next film, which is slated to be titled ‘Aarakshan’.
The film is to be based on the seat reservation issue. The super casting idea of this kind is sure to raise eyebrows from many quarters.
As Katrina has reportedly, done an excellent job in ‘Rajneeti’, as a political leader, her dedication and focus in her work has impressed the director to a great extent, her coming on screen as the daughter of Big B, is surely one big feather in her already big cap!
The first time that Big B and Kat had worked together was in her debut film ‘Boom’. Then they worked in ‘Sarkar’ and now if this film culminates, then this will surely call for a big celebration from fans of both stars!

A lot has been said about Katrina Kaif’s character in Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti. Many are of the opinion that it is based on Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s character.

According to our sources, Katrina plays leader of JSP (Jan Shakti Party) and her name is Indu Behna, who goes on to become a Chief Minister. Katrina’s role in Rajneeti demands that she sheds her glamorous image, so, for the first time the actress will be seen without make-up.

Filmmaker Prakash Jha however denied any similarity between Sonia and Katrina in Raajneeti. “Katrina’s character in my film is fictional and is not based on anyone,” said Jha also adding that the film will release on May 28, 2010.

Even Mani Ratnam had denied news of Guru being based on Dhirubhai Ambani’s life and so did Ramu deny that Sarkar was inspired by Bal Thackeray, but in both cases the similarities between the reel and real characters were uncanny.

Ask Katrina about her political role, and she prefers to be politically correct by simply being tight-lipped about it.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is a kind of person who sees you as a person and not through people close to you. He has good relationship with Katrina Kaif though his family doesn’t share good rapport with her boyfriend Salman Khan.

Amitabh, who has been honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award by QG Man, is amazed by the speed at which Katrina is climbing the ladders. He describes his rapport and encounter with Katrina on his blog.

“Katrina stabs a ‘hey its me’ finger punch on my shoulder and we recollect old times. The time of her very first film Boom and how as a shy reticent girl she had been bullied by the director not to ever look into the monitor. She was new and uncertain like most of us, but was keen to see what she looked like on screen. I thought it was a most natural and common desire and one that should have been allowed by the director, but when he did not express its possibility to the rest of the cast, I had dragged her to the monitor and given her the first look of what she looked like, to her. To her credit she still remembers that moment,” he wrote.

Amitabh also shares the time he has with Katrina during the shooting of Sarkar. “Later as the film shoot in Dubai came to an end, I had invited all cast and crew to tour the city at night and to perhaps have a bite somewhere. I recollect the embarrassment she and all of us faced when she was stopped from going inside a club, because the man in charge of the door thought her to be underage. And now from a small insignificant part in Sarkar to the most Googled and popular star in the firmament, Ms Kaif has come such a long way in such a short time,” he wrote.

Interestingly, Salman Khan’s ex flame Aishwarya Bachchan is married to Amitabh’s son Abhishek. And Katrina is currently seeing Salman. So, it’s so wise of Amitabh to praise the girlfriend of his bahu’s ex boyfriend.
