Why is it so that every second big budget film these days stars either Kareena Kapoor or Katrina Kaif?
About a year ago, this platform had been noticeably broader, including Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Kangna Ranaut. The rest of these names still maintain their positions as the top names of Bollywood, but have been left far behind by the leading Queen B’s. Let’s see why this is so:
The ‘heroines’
The way Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are battling it out right at the top, one wishes that it stays so forever! With both ladies writing and rewriting records with their big-budget, over Rs 100 crore successes, its the top producers who are laughing all the way to the bank.
While Kareena is gaga with the laurels she received from the success of ’3 Idiots’, ‘Golmaal 3′ and ‘Bodyguard’ in quick succession, Katrina knows she is on the dot, with a chartbuster item number like ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ and the good run of ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ on the box office. She now needs a big budget hit like Kareena to reach to the top.
Speaking of future projects, both the actresses have several films lined up with the Khans. ladies have scored the cream However, when it comes to getting the top projects, both Kareena as well as Katrina are pretty much neck to neck. Both of them are enjoying a piece of each of the Khans. In the bargain, Shah Rukh Khan (‘Ra.One’, an untitled film with Yash Chopra), Aamir Khan (‘Dhuaan’, ‘Dhoom 3′), Salman Khan (‘Bodyguard’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’) as well as Imran Khan (‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’, ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’) are enjoying the best of both worlds. Only Saif Ali Khan (‘Agent Vinod’) has placed his loyalities firmly with Kareena.

Forget her firang twang, Katrina Kaif will now speak chaste Hindi in Raajneeti. At least her trainer thinks so and is extremely satisfied with the effort she put in to get her accent right. Bollywood acting trainer and director of Kreating Charakters acting institute, Vidur Chaturvedi, taught Kaif to speak Urdu in only 20 days!
He says, “Yash Raj Films called me for her voice and diction training for the film New York. When I went through the script, I realised that her accent was a plus point and in fact, helped develop her character as an NRI. She didn’t need to be a Meena Kumari or a Madhubala. But for Raajneeti, she needed to speak differently.”
Short time
Since they had very little time before she went off shooting, Vidur simply recorded the dialogues and Kaif would perfect them later. He says, “She already knew the Hindi alphabets, but these days, you get dialogues in Roman script. I’d go train her in the evening and she’d work on her diction from 8 to 11 at the night. In the end, she had mastered all the dialogues. She never missed a class.” He warns that one may still catch the twang in her regular conversations, but as far as the film is concerned, she got the nuances of Hindi right.
Vidur has been a trainer in the industry for over 20 years now and had come to Mumbai mainly to become a director. He joined an acting school and even directed a Marathi film called Bhakti Heech Khari Shakti, but can’t think of taking up acting as a profession. He plans to make a Bollywood film soon. “I can teach Shakespeare, but I can’t be Shakespeare,” he draws an analogy. He prefers word-of-mouth publicity. “Anil Kapoor called me to train his daughter Sonam Kapoor. He said Neetuji (Neetu Kapoor) recommended my name to him. That’s how it works for me,” Vidur informs.
His list of students is an impressive milieu of Bollywood stars: Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Genelia D’Souza, Soha Ali Khan, Arjun Rampal, Minissha Lamba, Jacqueline Fernandes, Imran Khan and more. He quickly mentions his not-so-famous students too. “I’ve trained others like Kishen Kumar, Monica Bedi, Luv and Kush Sinha. Even though their films have bombed, my duty as a trainer is to own up to their flops too,” he asserts.

It seems Katrina Kaif is more dived into Saif Ali Khan‘s new goodwill project to spread awareness about the evil of domestic violence upon women. Recently they have received a strong support from other film personalities like Harman Baweja and Minnisha Lamba who have joined hands to spread the message effectively.
This mission which was founded by Women Against Violence and Empowerment (WAVE) has broached a cause with Flying Unicorn Entertainment to put an end to domestic violence upon women in the country.
Katrina, Harman and Saif will be participation in the WAVE welfare event to give impulse to their welfare mission and to curb the evil of domestic violence upon women.
If there is any meaningful cause Katrina will whole heartily plunge into the project, a source reported, “Katrina always likes being part of something meaningful. If her presence brings greater recognition towards the cause she always extends her full hearted support,”
That’s the actual spirit and strength that women should stand up for their right as Katrina has displayed so boldly. Hope Katrina and Saif’s mission receives a million’s response on the day of their event that is to be held on Saturday in Mumbai.

Let’s just skip the Kapoors and Kumars. If you let gallop the horses of your mind trying to figure out with which Khan Katrina Kaif will look the best on screen, you might scratch your head bald with indecision.

Fact is, the stunner that she is, Katrina has beauty and pizzazz to hold her place opposite any of the Khans in the industry. We’ve already seen her do so with Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan in films. She has rubbed shoulders will Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan as well, though a film with the two is yet to happen.
And not surprisingly, Katrina recently expressed her heartfelt wish to do a film with Aamir and Shahrukh each. If that happens, Katrina will be among the selected few actresses (including Kareena Kapoor) to have worked with the Khan quartet of Bollywood.
Here, you check out her chemistry with each Khan.

Bollywood stars sometimes have big egos, but we have proof that they also have big hearts! B-town’s own Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif and “What’s Your Raashee?” actor Harman Baweja are taking part in Pearls/Wave’s latest campaign focusing on violence against women.
The handsome three showed up at the NGO’s press meet to talk about their involvement in this important cause.
Katz told reporters that “my mom is always involved with women charity. Today I am very happy to help this cause and will give something back to the society. Across the country we have NGOs and people who are willing to help those affected by violence and difficulties in their lives. It is our responsibility to make women aware of these facilities and tell them how to use it to fight abuse.”
Beauty and brains, we like it!
For Saif, actors play a specific role in promoting causes close to their hearts: “Actors as role models, having responsibility towards society and should lend their support to causes like violence against women. We need to make people aware about it, if public opinion can be affected with our association we can contribute to it.”
So check out our pics from the press meet and tell us what you think; are Saif, Katz and Harman good ambassadors for Pearls/Wave? Share your thoughts.

The most significant quality of Saif Ali Khan is perhaps the fact that he never shies away from the fact that women are equally important and skilled citizens of the world along with men. Saif had once stated that he could relate to women oriented problems much more perhaps due to the fact that he had spent much of his growing up years with three women, that is to say his mom Sharmila Tagore, and his two sisters. But what is more striking about this suave actor is that he has no qualms about giving women their due respect which is a great quality very rare to come by in most egoistic males. However our Nawab Saab rises above all the orthodox school of thoughts and believes in pure equality of men and women.
According to sources the actor was recently invited to be a brand Ambassador for an organization for women called Wave, (Women against Violence and Empowerment). He was invited by the initiative taken by Pearl for the organization along with the most suited for this cause of empowerment actress Katrina Kaif. Both of them along with actor Harman Baweja were seen endorsing the organization with the white T shirt having a pink logo of the brand embossed on it. Thus the event gained significant publicity as bollywoods top stars had given their stamp of approval to highlight the organization and it’s motive. Guess this common factor between the two will go a long way in protecting vulnerable women in society.

Katrina Kaif is reconsidering taking on Abbas Mustan’s remake of ‘The Italian Job’. This is because her role is apparently rather unimportant.
Katrina is having second thoughts about the film since she read the script, even though she readily agreed at first. According to sources, since she started giving hits, she has become picky about her roles and won’t sign on anything just because it has big names. She also doesn’t want to sign on the film because she believes her role has no scope.
She was keen on doing the film at first because it starred Saif Ali Khan. But she lost interest in the film as soon as Saif left it. This is not the first film she has turned down. In fact, in recent months, it’s the third film she has refused after agreeing to be a part of it initially, the other two being Sanjay Gadhvi’s ‘7 Days In Paris’ and Anees Bazmee’s ‘Thank You’. However, she may agree to be a part of ‘The Italian Job’ if the necessary changes in the script are made.
