Katrina Kaif is working with all the three Khans – Salman (‘Ek Tha Tiger’), Aamir (‘Dhoom 3′) and Shah Rukh (Yash Raj’s romantic drama also starring Anushka Sharma) – and now there might be more starry associations up ahead for the actress. Apparently, she’d been approached to star in Rohit Shetty’s next opposite SRK, but the twist in the tale is that Kareena Kapoor is also supposedly keen on the same role.

Kareena is, of course, a Rohit Shetty favourite, having starred in the ‘Golmaal’ movies. But Kat’s stock has risen tremendously after her consecutive hits (‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ and ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’) and it is rumoured that she might be a better fit for the new film from the hotshot ‘Singham’ director. This new project is believed to be an action thriller.

Meanwhile, Kareena is currently celebrating the success of ‘RA.One’ in which she starred opposite Shah Rukh. Bebo and SRK are close friends, and he has admitted that she got the heroine’s role in his home production simply because she said that she wanted it. Priyanka Chopra and Asin had been considered for the part in the early stages of conceptualisation for ‘RA.One’.

So who will win this competition and star in Shah Rukh’s next movie? Katrina Kaif or Kareena Kapoor? Watch this space for updates.

We have all loved Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s pairing in films. Time and again the reel life couple have made us fall in love with love. In fact their jodi is considered one of the most successful jodis of Bollywood. But it seems brit beauty Katrina Kaif is all set to take Kajol’s place!

Kat is being paired with King Khan in two forthcoming films. Yash Chopra’s directorial venture will star SRK, Katrina and Anushka Sharma in the lead. Needless to say, this one will be a classic romance.

Latest development is that Katrina is also being considered to star opposite SRK in Rohit Shetty’s next. Katrina will however have to fight it out with Kareena Kapoor, a Rohit Shetty favourite, before she bags the coveted project.

Speaking to a daily, a source close to Rohit revealed, “Katrina Kaif is at an all time career high. Currently, she is working with the three biggest Khans – Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir. Rohit Shetty’s action film that goes on floors in May next year will be her fourth consecutive film with a Khan.”

Though Rohit has approached Katrina, Rohit is also contemplating on casting Kareena. And why not? Kareena is also having a successful run at the BO and her pairing with SRK in ‘RA.One’ has been much appreciated.

“Kareena has worked with SRK in ‘Asoka’ and ‘RA.One’. She shares a good on-screen chemistry with him. Also, director Rohit Shetty is very fond of her. She has been his chosen one for the successful Golmaal franchise. She is the obvious choice for the project,” said the source.

Industry insiders feel that Katrina’s friendship with Rohit might just pay off. “Katrina is working with SRK in Yash Chopra’s film. She has become good friends with the actor as well. She might have been recommended by him as well,” added the source.

Rohit Shetty had initially planned to re make 1982 classic ‘Angoor’ with SRK but after the success of ‘RA.One’ SRK has shown keen interest in doing an action film.

“When Rohit decided to make an action film with Shah Rukh, he decided to change his heroine as well. Earlier he wanted Kareena to portray the role played by Moushumi Chatterjee in the original ‘Angoor’. But with the change in the script, he decided upon Katrina Kaif,” revealed another source.

Looks like another hit jodi is in the making! Wonder what ‘good friend’ Salman has to say about all this.

The numero uno spot in Bollywood is at times decided not by the number of hit films an actor delivers but the number of zeroes in the paycheck. If that be the case, Kareena Kapoor certainly takes the top spot ahead of other contenders like Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra.

If the latest buzz is to go by, Bebo has pocketed a hefty amount of Rs. 7 crore for director Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal 3’, to be made under the banner of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd.

Claiming such a huge paycheck is no small feat for an actress who gave two flops – Kambakkht Ishq and Main Aur Mrs Khanna – and just one hit, 3 Idiots last year.

However, Katrina, on the other hand, was part of the hit movies New York, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and the moderately successful De Dana Dan. Priyanka was seen in the hit Kaminey and the flop What’s Your Raashee?.

Then what’s the reason Kareena is able to command such high acting fee?

Director Rohit Shetty is reportedly adamant about having Kareena in ‘Golmaal 3’. And the banner Shree Ashtavinayak has had wonderful working relations with Kareena in the past. So, little surprise that the banner opened up its coffers to pay Bebo her asked price.

Katrina, Priyanka better catch up fast.

Mughda Godse, for whom FASHION turned out to be a breakthrough film, is finding a lot of doors opening for her.

She’s already paired opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh in her mentor Madhur Bhandarkar’s JAIL and is now all set to do an out-n-out entertainer in Ajay Devgan’s home production. Also she recently replaced Bollywood’s most sought after actress Katrina Kaif in director Rohit Shetty’s next.

Rohit Shetty has reportedly confirmed the news, ”Yes, we wanted Katrina Kaif in the project. She would have been a definite value-add. It’s a pity though that she can’t be doing my film because the dates of my film clash with some other assignments of hers.”

So Kat’s loss has now become Mugdha’s gain. Interestingly Shetty’s GOLMAAL RETURNS which had set the cash registers ringing had clashed with Mugdha’s debut film FASHION last Diwali.

The dusky chick is obviously elated and has no problems with the replacement theory.

She says, ”I love singing and dancing around trees and have no contempt for hardcore commercial Hindi films. I’m happy to be playing one of the female leads in the film. Moreover, my part requires me to look glamorous as well. I don’t worry about replacing people. Cliched as it may sound, replacements do happen in the industry. I don’t know whether I’m replacing anybody or not. But I’m glad about playing an interesting character.”

She says she has a lot to look forward to.

She adds, ”I’m happy to be paired opposite Fardeen Khan and I love that man’s style. Moreover, I’m being directed by Rohit who has never put a foot wrong. He is a guy who thinks commercial cinema and knows how to get his audience engaged in theatres. I’m sure I will have a blast working in this film.”

The lass sure feels this is her dream run. Let’s see how it shapes up for her from here on.

If director Rohit Shetty (of GOLMAAL RETURNS) had his way, Katrina Kaif would have been his leading lady for ALL THE BEST. An Ajay Devgan production, it already boasted of an enviable cast comprising of Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu and Sanjay Dutt. For Fardeen Khan, another male lead in the film, it’s a sort of comeback and Katrina Kaif being roped into the film would have only added to the star quotient.

Confirms a source on condition of anonymity, ”Makers of the film were convinced that Katrina Kaif was just right for the role of this glamorous 20 something young woman. Since Rohit’s films are always high on glamour quotient, Katrina would have been a welcome addition to the multi starrer.”

Narrating an interesting anecdote, he adds, ”Also, it would have been a casting coup since Katrina has never worked with Fardeen before. However, she has shared screen space with his dad Feroz Khan in WELCOME. It seemed that she was set to play a role in the film.”

However, this wasn’t the case to be as Katrina couldn’t be a part of the film that resulted in an overnight search for another actress. This is where Mugdha Godse came into picture and the young glamorous woman was more than happy to grab the role in a multistarrer like ALL THE BEST which looks like a winner from the word Go.

So what actually went wrong with Katrina?

”No one knows”, promptly says the source, ”Entire cast of the film that comprises of Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu, Sanjay Dutt and Fardeen Khan was announced but the slot was kept wide open for a leading lady. Suddenly, Katrina Kaif’s date issues came up and it was decided that Mugdha Godse would be the part of this action comedy.”

Of course Katrina’s loss is Mugdha’s gain. With this film, she finds herself consolidating further in the big league with first FASHION and then JAIL where she is paired opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh and is being directed by Madhur Bhandarkar again.

Excited about working in this Ajay Devgan home production that should see its shooting kick starting in Goa this March, she adds, ”I am happy to be paired opposite Fardeen Khan and I love that man’s style. It’s a full on commercial film and has come at just the right time. I can’t wait for the shoot to begin.”

Katrina Kaif will no longer be part of director Rohit Shetty’s next comedy film.

Rohit, who’s directed flicks like Golmaal , Golmaal Returns , was set to work with Katrina for the first time but things did not turn out as expected. As it happened, Katrina was interested in doing the film but the dates Rohit wanted from her were already booked for another project.

With no option left, Rohit Shetty had to drop Katrina from the project. If she had done the film, she would have paired with Fardeen Khan .

After Katrina’s exit, Rohit has reportedly roped in Mugdha Godse , who made an impressive entry in Bollywood with Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Fashion last year.

Mugdha, who has a very glamourous role in Rohit’s film, says she is not just eye-candy in the movie. The girl says her character is crucial to the plot.

But more than her role, Mugdha is excited about working with Rohit, who, she thinks, knows the pulse of the audience, and about pairing up with Fardeen, who, Mugdha thinks, is one of the most stylish actors in Bollywood.

Apart from Rohit’s film, Mugdha is also doing Madhur Bhandarkar ’s Jail with Neil Nitin Mukesh .
