Sonam Kapoor in an interview with the fashion mag Vogue India talks about Katrina, Ranbir Kapoor, and how she wants her man to be.

She still maintains that Ranbir Kapoor is not sexy. “Are girls drooling over him? Really? Ranbir isn’t sexy at all. Ranbir is a mama’s boy, his mother cuts his toenails for him,” said the Mausam actress.

Who could believe that Sonam is the same girl who shared a good friendship with Ranbir once! But, it seems those days are passé. In the interview, Sonam also talked about her man and why he is never going to be an actor.

“A person who will take more time than me to get ready. I don’t like primping, preening men.” She also explained why Indian men can never be fashionable enough. Sonam says, Indian men don’t understand fashion, unless they are gay. This comment might raise a few eyebrows. Nevertheless, it’s Sonam Kapoor who is speaking, the one who is always at ease with her off-the-cuff remarks.

But she had something nice to say about Katrina Kaif. Sonam says men love mystery and that’s why they like Katrina. “You have to retain the mystery of being a woman. That’s why Katrina Kaif is who she is – a mystery. Men like mystery.”

Katrina Kaif, after going back and forth several times, had finally decided to decline Ayaan Mukerji’s offer to star in his next film opposite Ranbir Kapoor (Mumbai Mirror, 30 July 2011).

While ‘date problems’ and ‘pending projects’ were the major reasons cited for her refusal of the offer, the industry is abuzz with rumours of Salman Khan being the one person behind his ex-girlfriend’s decision.

Katrina, who is busy with Salman starrer Ek Tha Tiger and Yash Chopra’s next directorial venture opposite Shah Rukh Khan was apparently asked by Salman to opt out of Ayaan’s next project with Dharma.

Katrina Kaif will not be seen this time on Simi Garewal’s TV chat show Simi Selects: India’s Most Desirable.

It’s a show where single celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Siddhartha Mallya, Ranbir Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Freida Pinto, and Sonam Kapoor have been featured but Kat apparently is too busy for Simi. So while most of the single and eligible B-Town stars, sportspersons and society men and men will be featured on this show including filmmaker Karan Johar one actress who won’t appear on the show – is Katrina.

Katrina Kaif is candid enough to confess that it is more fun working with the younger heroes than the older ones.

In the beginning of her career she worked with senior actors like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. She was paired with the younger actor like Ranbir Kapoor in the recent past in films like Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Raajneeti that were successful, and then she did a Yashraj film with Imran Khan – Mere Brother Ki Dulhan which is about to release.

Katrina Kaif is in more demand than ever, the actress has several films in her kitty, giving her the power to pick and choose her films, but what happens when she rejects an offer from a big Bollywood producer?

Last year the 27 year old actress walked up to filmmaker Karan Johar because she wanted to be cast as a leading lady in the sequel to Dostana, however there wasn’t much Karan could do at this point, as he was waiting on the film’s director, Tarun Mansukhani to finalize the script first.

Thereafter, Katrina Kaif tried her luck in buddy Ayan Mukerjee’s next venture to be produced by the Dharma Production banner, starring good friend Ranbir Kapoor.

Now for the latest, if sources are to be believed, during the time when Katrina Kaif was approached to star in Yash Chopra’s next directorial venture opposite Shahrukh Khan, she noticed some date clashes with Ayan’s film, so as a result Katrina Kaif has now refused Dharma Productions amazing offer.

Sources add, ‘Kat has clearly played favorites and this has reportedly not gone down well with some at Dharma.’

Reigning Bollywood queen, Katrina Kaif has said that it’s easier to work with younger actors as compared to senior actors, Zee News reports. The actress, who made her debut in a film starring Amitabh Bachchan and later went on to star in several films with Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan, feels she gels well with younger lot of actors like Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor.

In a candid interview to a daily, Katrina said, “I don`t think anyone will mind if I say that it is very different working with older heroes because the age difference is of about 20 years, and just about two to three years with the younger heroes with who you can even do nonsense on the sets.

For instance, Imran would come on the sets, he would kick me playfully. At times there would be nothing constructive what we were doing, there is so much bachpana.” Katrina and Imran star in Yash Raj’s next ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. Johar’s next project, to be directed by Ayaan Mukherjee and starring Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina’s co-star in hits like ‘Ajaab Prem Ki Gajaab Kahani’ and ‘Raajneeti’.

According to sources, in spite of trying to work dates for close friend Karan’s film, Katrina had to opt out of the film due to prior commitments.

Presently, Katrina is working around her schedule for c’s film.

She was also keen and tried her best to accommodate the dates but it was not possible, since she seems to be on a yo-yo with her two films with the Khans–Ek Tha Tiger with Salman and Yash Chopra’s untitled film with Shah Rukh Khan.

Apparently Karan Johar, the producer of Ayan’s film, sat with good friend Aditya Chopra to somehow get some dates out but it seemed impossible. Finally, Kat had to reluctantly give up Ayan’s project.

Something went seriously wrong between once ‘good friends’ Ranbir kapoor and Katrina Kaif, so much so that the lady declined to do Ayan Mukherjee’s next with the Kapoor lad.

Deepika Padukone, who seems to have moved on after her torrid affair with RK, has decided to fill in Kat’s shoes!

However, Katrina isn’t lagging behind in her career graph, and is all set to prove that ‘If Ranbir Kapoor is a ‘Rockstar’ (the title of his forthcoming film), then I’m rocking, too!’ Kat takes on a rockstar avatar in her soon-to-be-released movie ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ and even performs to a rock number!

However quiz her about her and Ranbir’s ‘Rockstar’ co-incidence and she is quick to voice that she isn’t out to prove anything to anybody and that her rockstar act was just a part of the script. Katrina is being much applauded in her ‘Rockstar’ number titled ‘Dhunki’. Rendered by Sunidhi Chauhan with Sohai Sen as music director, this may just prove to be another Sheila Ki Jawani for the actress.

It was only recently that actress Katrina Kaif, respecting her penchant for keeping personal and professional factors separate, had agreed to star opposite rumoured ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in Ayan Muhkerji’s next directorial venture. The film, being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, would have cashed in on the crackling chemistry between the two young actors and also the curiosity about their reported ‘nocturnal activities’.

With her assent to act in the film, Katrina had actually put cold water over the head of other two actresses; Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma, who wanted to share screen space with Ranbir. However, now Katrina is reconsidering her decision due to ‘date problems’. Apparently, Katrina is finding it difficult to manage her dates for the film and is considering to opt out of the project. This will undoubtedly up the spirits of her other two contenders.

According to sources, it is Deepika Padukone who is most likely to be cast opposite Ranbir if Katrina decides to quit. Guess we will have to just wait and watch.
