Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has been doing consistently well since she entered Bollywood in 2003. She has been belting out hit films year after year, and 2010 was no exception with Raajneeti earning her lots of accolades. Going by the projects she has in her kitty, 2011 is going to be a busy year for the actress.

Katrina is looking forward to the release of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara with Hrithik Roshan and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan with Imran Khan. Then she has director Prakash Jha’s Satsang, where she plays a character seeking spiritual rejuvenation in India. After that, she has a film with Abhishek Bachchan to be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

Well, let’s hope Katrina has yet another successful year!

After sharing screen space in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Raajneeti, the superhit jodi would reportedly pair together in Rajkumar Santoshi’s next, reports Mumbai Mirror.

The director wants to team up with his Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani star Katrina Kaif for his new film with Ashtavinayak. He recently inked the deal with the production house for the comic caper.

The filmmaker is however known for announcing projects that never see light of day. “But he and the producers are keen that this project rolls by the year-end. He tasted success with Ajab Prem… after his last few films did not do well. Due to which he is keen to make a film with Katrina again who is a lucky mascot for him” says a source.

The film will have two heroes and another actress.

An Ashtavinayak spokesperson confirms to Mumbai Mirror, “Rajkumar Santoshi is directing a film for which work is in progress.”

Is Katrina Kaif & Salman Khan split ?: As per the insiders the trouble began early this year in January, at Salman’s birthday bash at his Panvel farmhouse. The actor had reportedly pushed Katrina aside when she tried to stop him from drinking excessively. It was said that Salman was not too happy with her on-screen chemistry with Akshay Kumar, visible in Namastey London. Then recently, Salman expressed his ire at her signing a film with Rajkumar Santoshi opposite Shahid Kapur, who he cannot stand.
To top it, the actor is also believed to be quite upset at the promos of Firoz Nadiadwala’s Welcome and is believed to have asked him to change it. He did not like the fact that Katrina was shown wearing short skirts in the promo. Nadiadwala is believed to have immediately spoken to Katrina in Australia and she told him to continue with the promos. Katrina is naturally not very happy at his interference in her career, even though it is true that Salman facilitated her entry into Bollywood.

Earlier, filmmakers approached Katrina because she was Salman’s girlfriend but now they do not approach her because of the same reason. The actress does not want to loose out on her budding career and has started taking independent decisions, which is probably not going down too well with Salman.

“Salman-Katrina were shooting in the same premises for almost the entire day but didn`t even bother to go say hello to each other. The air in Mehboob was rife with tension with people speculating what would happen when Khan and Kat stepped outside their vans and bumped into each other.”

March 29, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Katrina Kaif is undergoing a transformation for her role as an item girl in Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan. She is slowly turning aggressive and loud.

She has made sure her manner turns loud even when it’s 5am in the morning. She is also making an effort to look strikingly different in each of the item songs, which Farah and her assistant, Gita, have choreographed.

To get her character’s look right, Katrina has been shopping for clothes and accessories herself. She has been visiting small shops that sell cheap stuff to give her character an authentic look. She feels that it’s a bit of a challenge to do a complete look but working in Rajneeti has taught her that every accessory brings the character in.

The actress has also been brushing up her knowledge on Bollywood’s item girls by going through some of the popular item numbers like Mumtaz’s Tik tiki mera dil bole from Humjoli (1970) and Bipasha Basu’s Beedi from Omkara (2006).

Akshay Kumar, Katrina’s co-star on Tees Maar Khan has been advising her to just go wild when dancing on camera as it will help her character.

Katrina, who extremely enjoys the comedy genre, finally got an opportunity to play an out an out comic role in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani’.

According to director Rajkumar Santoshi, Katrina was surprised when he approached her for this comedy role. “I have seen her films and that’s why I thought she’s apt for the role I have in mind. She was surprised and happy when she came to know that the role is of a complete comic character, which she hasn’t played yet in spite of doing comedy films,” said Santoshi.

Speaking about her comic timing Santoshi said, “Katrina will surprise her critics. Her comic timing is amazing. She is very talented and you will see her in my next comedy film too.” He signs off.
