Actress Katrina Kaif is upset with a report that she cancelled the shoot for Yash Raj Films’ Mere Brother Ki Dulhan because her favourite make-up man Subhash was unavailable as he had booked his dates for Anushka Sharma.
Katrina, 27, said people should not pull her down by writing such false stories and should give her respect considering her contribution to the industry.
“That was something really disheartening. I am not that kind of person who ever stood up and says, ‘Look what I have done, look at me’ or asked for any kind of respect or recognition or walked around with any kind of ego.
“But when I see people stoop down to that level and write these kind of stories, that’s the only time I feel that I am not asking for recognition, but a little bit of respect after these years I have worked in the industry. Please don’t pull me down to this level,” Katrina told IANS.
The actress entered Bollywood in 2003 with Boom. Though Boom bombed, she went on to deliver hits like Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, Race and Raajneeti.
Releasing Sep 9, the directorial debut of Ali Abbas Zafar, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a comedy where Katrina is teamed up with Imran Khan and Pakistani singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar.
The current favourite of YRF, Katrina, will be also seen in their Ek Tha Tiger opposite Salman Khan and Yash Chopra’s next undeclared directorial venture opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan. She has teamed up with Anushka in the latter.
“Anushka is a lovely girl, starting off her career now,” she said.

Katrina Kaif today entertained Indian troops during a visit to a forward post right on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
The 27-year-old actress also shook a leg with the jawans at the LoC in Jangarh in a forward area of Nowshera sub-sector in Rajouri district.
After her interaction with the jawans, who were happy to receive her at the forward post, Katrina had lunch with them, a senior Army officer of 16 Corps told PTI.
Katrina, who is on a three-day visit to the border state, also briefly took part in a counter-insurgency training exercise to get a first hand experience of what jawans in the border areas have to go through.
She also took part in firing, rope climbing, river crossing exercise during the training drill.
The ‘Raajneeti’ star danced along with the jawans during two entertainment programmes in Nowshera Brigade in the district.

It is raining outside and Katrina Kaif says that on rainy days she feels like “cuddling up in bed and watching movies, or playing in the rain — what I don’t feel like doing is working!”
Or worrying about a leaking flat. Like most Mumbaikars at this time of year, Katrina says, “My house is leaking very badly. It is a seven-floor building and I live on the top floor. My living room has been leaking and I had to move all the furniture to one side and it makes me angry.”
Come rain or leaking roofs, the show must go on, so she settles down to telling Patcy N about her forthcoming film Zindagi Na Milege Dobara, her opinion of her three male co-stars, and shooting on a nude beach in Spain.
It looks like you had lots of fun shooting for Zindagi Na Milege Dobara since it was a youthful team.
Yes, it was one of those experiences that don’t come often. That’s the whole fun of movie-making — you get to live the life you wouldn’t normally. Your experience becomes the whole journey.
When we were shooting for New York, the process of making the film made an impact on me and the same with Raajneeti. This, again, was a journey. We were in Spain where every city is like a different kind of world. Valencia looks like a painting, in Barcelona we went for an all-night concert… these are experiences we don’t get otherwise. That’s the part of joy of making a movie, you are very privileged in that way

It can be called a co-incidence of sorts that most of the films that have done well at the ticket window this year star heroines whose names start with the initial K.
Starting with the most experienced Kajol who started the year on a high with the hit MY NAME IS KHAN, where she was paired with her favourite co-star Shah Rukh Khan. She did disappoint a bit with her second and third release, WE ARE FAMILY and TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO, but her super sensitive act as Mandira in MNIK saved the day for Kajol and her fans.
Then comes the most successful and certainly the numero-uno heroine of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif, who has a super hit in form of RAAJNEETI and her latest release TEES MAAR KHAN too has embarked upon a historic start netting almost 40 crore during the first weekend itself, second only to the biggest DABANGG.
If Katrina is there can Kareena be left far behind? Well, not at all. Kareena Kapoor may have had a bad year with her moth ridden MILENGE MILENGE and WE ARE FAMILY failing at the turnstile but she did recover with the blockbuster GOLMAAL 3 thus ending the year on a high note.
Last but not the least two names that might surprise quite a few, Kangna Ranaut, with her stellar performance in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI and the hugely talented Konkona Sen Sharma with her spontaneously brilliant act in ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE?
Well, so the K factor works not only for Karan Johar but also for the heroines in Bollywood.

Katrina Kaif gets ready to give Munni big competition with her hot item number Sheila Ki Jawani in her December release Tees Mar Khan.
The actress claims that her sexy look was one of the reasons she signed on Farah Khan’s film, as the ‘women in Farah’s films are very glamourous.’
But, as she tells Patcy N, she would never aspire to be a size zero. Katrina also gets candid about her relationship with co-star Akshay Kumar and Barbie dolls.
What kind of movies would you like to work in: serious, comedy or a blend of both?
I signed Farah’s film thinking it would be an intense film. Halfway through, I felt ‘oh god it’s different. Now what do I do?’ [smiles]
On a serious note, all the films I have done so far have served different purposes. For example, in Raajneeti, I wanted to experience Prakashji’s (Jha) dramatic approach to filmmaking.
Similarly, I signed Farah’s film because I knew no other director could present me the way she could. The women in Farah’s films are very glamorous. And the highlight for me were the songs.
And she did not let me down. Everything from looks to what I was looking to portray far exceeded what I have done before.
