Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif are pitted opposite each other in the Best Actress category in the Dainik Bhaskar Group’s Bhaskar Bollywood Awards; touted as India’s first democratic awards.

Nominated for their outstanding performances in Sanjay Leela Bansali`s Guzaarish and Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti, the beauties are slugging it out in competition, with votes from the aam junta across the globe through the media group’s print and online mediums.

While Katrina surprised one and all with her deglam yet power-packed performance in Raajneeti, Aishwarya too won millions of hearts with her role of a strong yet vulnerable Sofia in Guzaarish.

In the recent past, the Kaif girl has walked away with loads of superhits and accolades, leaving a lot of heroines behind. But with Aishwarya’s stellar performance in Guzaarish this time, it’s sure going to be tougher. Let’s see if Kat manages to bite Ash this time round!

Katrina Kaif may be the darling of one of the biggest production houses of Bollywood — Yash Raj Films — but, she has been rubbing a lot of people the wrong way recently. She refused films with Anees Bazmee (Thank You), Abbas Mustan (The Italian Job remake) and now she has said no to Prakash Jha who gave her the super hit Raajneeti.

Our source said, “Katrina is known to be very professional. However, of late she has been committing to projects and then backing out. It all started with Anees Bazmee’s Thank You which she had agreed to doing, but opted out at the last minute. Anees was furious but kept quiet. Then, Abbas-Mustan waited for eight months to start shooting, only to have her walk out of their film. The director duo blasted her in print. Now she has walked out of Prakash Jha’s Aarkshan which she had agreed to do earlier. This has shocked Jha but he is maintaining a dignified silence.

The source said, “Katrina is making enemies in the industry. All these directors have given her hit films. Bazmee gave her Welcome and Singh is Kinng when she was a nobody. The competition is heating up with Sonam, Deepika and Sonakshi, but Katrina seems to be on a different trip altogether.”

Actress Katrina Kaif has now ditched her Raajneeti director Prakash Jha. She had Jha’s upcoming film Arakshan soon after the release of Rajneeti but now she is reported to have walked out of the film.

This has definitely come as shock to the filmmaker but he is maintaining a dignified silence on the same. The film is a political thriller that focuses on issues of reservation and was scheduled to start by the end of this year yet again in Bhopal. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn.

Now what’s wrong with the girl that she simply ditching the directors with whom she had landmark successes of her career! Recently she has also walked out of Abbas Mastan’s Italian Job; the duo is instrumental with Race in her lustrous career. Even before that she refused to do Thank You at the last minute for Anees Bazmi, with whom she got successed like Welcome and Singh is Kinng.
She has dumped all these prominent directors only to do Yash Raj Film’s next project with co-stars Imran Khan and Ali Zaffar. Now please somebody tell her that Yashraj Films is no more block-buster delivering production house.

Katrina Kaif movie Raajneeti enters its second week with a bang. After collecting Rs 54 crore approx from its first week the movie added further Rs 16 crore from its second weekend.

On Friday, it collected approx Rs 3.75 crore, while on Saturday the collections rose to Rs 5.50 crore, and on Sunday it was around Rs 7 crore. Now the movie’s ten-day grand total is Rs 70 crore approx and by the end of the week it is likely to touch the 79-80 crore mark.

As per trade reports, Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti will end up in top five Hindi films of all time in terms of distributor share. The other top films in the list are Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Gadar, Ghajini and 3 Idiots.

The final verdict on Kites is out; after a fantastic opening the movie eventually turned out to be a disaster. It’s a flop! Coming to the last Friday’s release, Ek Second… Jo Zindagi Badal De? marked a very poor opening at BO and will sink without a trace.
