Aishwarya Rai may have ruled the Bollywood kingdom for the past many years but many feel that now with age catching on, she is losing her sheen. Also, post her marriage with Abhishek Bachchan, some producers are not keen on banking on her especially when mushy rom-coms are concerned. However, she still grabs the biggest roles that demand strong acting credentials.

But with the arrival of newbies like Katrina, Sonam and Deepika, the B-town is retaining its glam quotient with the modern day girls showing no inhibitions while donning skimpy clothes.

Aishwarya Rai’s arch rival Katrina Kaif has had a dream journey since the last couple of years after a forgettable debut ‘Boom’ that was lashed as one of the worst movies ever made. (Amitabh Bachchan was also a part of that raunchy flick). However, since then, she has come a long way and her journey in the B-town has been absolutely fantastic, to say the least. She has captured the imagination of millions of drooling men with her strikingly ravishing face, milky-white flawless complexion and a terrific screen presence.

After making a not so dream debut Zarine Khan seems to have struck gold. Her resemblance to Katrina Kaif seems to be working in her favour and if grapevine is to be believed she has replaced Katrina from the sequel of the 2007 hit Partner. The David Dhawan directed movie stared Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Govinda and Lara Dutta.

Zarine Khan remains tight lipped about the project and says it is to early for her to disclose anything. Even film’s director David Dhawan says it is too early to talk about the cast of the movie which is expected to start shooting this year. Well, Zarine Khan will be on Cloud Nine and why not as not every body double gets a leading role in Bollywood.

katrina1211_fullA five-star hotel in Mumbai has roped in Katrina Kaif for Rs. 2 crore to perform at its New Year’s Eve party.

This is the highest amount an actress has ever been paid to perform at a single show.

Mallika Sherawat started the trend when she took Rs. 90 lakh two years ago for such a performance. Bipasha continued the trend last year.

This year the hotel was in two minds about Katrina and Deepika, but finally zeroed in on Katrina.

Since Deepika has just four films in her kitty with not too many hit songs, except “Om Shanti Om”, the hotel decided on Katrina.

katrina20kaif60hAfter a slew of out and out comedies like Namastey London, Partner and Singh Is Kinng, Katrina Kaif is now working on two “difficult” films – Prakash Jha’s political drama Rajneeti and Rajkumar Santoshi’s romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani- and the actress wants to devote extra time and thought to the projects.

“This year I would like to allocate time to big films. The kind of films I am doing – Rajneeti and Ajab Prem… are a little more difficult. They need time and also a little more thought process,” said Katrina. The films are slated for release this year.
