Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is down with jaundice and missing from the promotions for her latest outing “De Dana Dan”. And her co-star Akshay Kumar was prompt in wishing her speedy recovery.

Rumours were rife that the actress was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai Monday night, where she was diagnosed with jaundice and has been advised complete bed rest for a while.

Asked if it were true, Akshay said: “Katrina is down with jaundice… We are missing her and hope she gets well soon.”

Hardly had the giggles from their last outing together De Dana Dan died out that Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif are teaming up yet again to make you laugh in another comedy film to be directed by Anees Bazmee.

Anees, who has been cooling his heels after the successful Singh Is Kinng last year, is presently in the middle of writing his next film ‘Thank You’, a full-on comedy. Reports say he wants to rope in the ‘De Dana Dan’ quartet - Akshay, Katrina, Paresh Rawal and Sunil Shetty - for the film, but Anees himself isn’t willing to confirm the cast except the leading pair.

‘Kanjeevaram’, under the direction of Priyadarshan, won the award for the best film and also the best actor for Prakash Jha at the 55th National Film Awards.

The unit threw a celebration party on Tuesday evening and a host of celebrities joined in the success bash despite the sudden heavy downpour.

The eminent guest list included Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Chunkey Pandey, Urvashi Sharma, Sameera Reddy, Om Puri and Paresh Rawal.

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have marked the wrap-up of De Dana Dan’s shoot with a promotional number. Shot at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai during a six-day schedule, the track choreographed by Ganesh Hegde is titled Main baarish kar doon paison ki. Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif, who was wearing a sari while shooting for another song, had a little wardrobe disaster when her sari shrunk in length after getting drenched in the artificial rain. Director Priyadarshan ensured that the shoot went on smoothly by opting for close-ups of the actress, thus avoiding the need to arrange for another similar sari. The schedule also saw them teaming up with other lead actors - Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Sameera Reddy and Neha Dhupia - to finish patchwork scenes for the film. The Screen photographer spotted Sameera Reddy arriving at the studio in a bright, chirpy dress, just the right thing to drive away the monsoon blues.
