Katrina Kaif, much known for her romantic comedies in the past is now said to be lean towards issue-based films these days.

Rumors are ripe that the actress even has expressed her desire to work with director Madhur Bhandarkar who is known for making such type of movies.

Another reason for such desire may be that lead actresses in his films are almost keen to bag awards.

Katrina however has rubbished saying that she is too busy with her upcoming film Rajneeti and also denied contacting Madhur Bhandarkar.

Katrina Kaif, who gave numerous hits, last year, has just one film for 2010. And the fact that her competitors Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor have many films lined up for release is giving her sleepless nights. According to sources, while Katrina has mostly done romantic comedies in the past, she will be entering a new territory this year with Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti. She now wants to do more films that are issue-based, like the ones that Madhur Bhandarkar makes. She has expressed her desire to even work with Bhandarkar, as the lead actresses in his films always win awards.

Priyanka Chopra may have become the latest favourite of the audience and even with the critics after ‘Kaminey’, but the actress couldn’t beat Katrina Kaif’s BO record. Reports reveal that because of the debacle of Priyanka’s latest release ‘What’s Your Rashee?’, the actress failed to score over Katrina’s record of five consecutive hits.

In the recent past, Katrina has given five hits in a row, while Priyanka could deliver only four, one after the other, and her fifth flick in the series with Hurman Baweja, ‘What’s Your Rashee?’ bombed at the Box Office.

Katrina Kaif will no longer be part of director Rohit Shetty’s next comedy film.

Rohit, who’s directed flicks like Golmaal , Golmaal Returns , was set to work with Katrina for the first time but things did not turn out as expected. As it happened, Katrina was interested in doing the film but the dates Rohit wanted from her were already booked for another project.

With no option left, Rohit Shetty had to drop Katrina from the project. If she had done the film, she would have paired with Fardeen Khan .
