Minnisha kicked-off her Bollywood career in 2005 with ‘Yahaan’, which was well received by the critics; but that was it for Minnisha as she has had six flops in a row ever since.
After lying low for two years, new hope came in the form of Yashraj as the filmmaker signed her for ‘Bachchana Aae Haseeno’, a role which was initially scripted for Katrina Kaif. Minnisha grabbed the opportunity and even signed up for a complete makeover look to play the character.
Woah she sure has alot of shoes to fill up , since she replaces Katrina Kaif. We’re confident she can pull it off. Bachna Ae Haseno Opens August 18.
At a time when most filmmakers from Farah Khan (Om Shanti Om) to Siddharth Anand (Bachna Ae Haseenon) are naming their films after evergreen songs, it’s refreshing to come across a filmmaker who doesn’t hesitate in pushing the envelope. Rajkumar Santoshi has always chosen rather apt and succinct titles for his films so far….like Ghayal, Ghatak, Damini and Halla Bol. But the title of his latest film is just so zany it makes you chuckle and keeps you intrigued even before the film goes on the floors. The film is called Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Prem was what Salman Khan was named in Raj Santoshi’s only comedy Andaz Apna Apna Apna .Now it’s Ranbir’s turn in Santoshi’s first-ever love story which coincidentally stars Salman’s love interest, Katrina Kaif. Salman and Ranbir bond big-time. In fact, when Ranbir was shooting the towel song in Saawariya, Salman had come on the sets to oversee Ranbir’s abs-and-bare-torso although Salman wasn’t required that day.
The year 2007 turned out to be the turning point for the beauty and there was no looking back from then.
The lady luck has to not just smile but laugh whole heartedly if a relatively new actress who on her arrival in B-Town and one movie later became known more for her looks and inability to speak good Hindi rather than the potential in acting to later on become the heroine of four back to back huge block busters.
Katrina Kaif, who’s paired with Ranbir Kapoor in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’, seems to be getting into the let’s-get-young mode.
She has now been signed to star opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh in Yash Raj banner’s next venture to be directed by Kabir Khan and the hero says they will make a good couple on screen.
‘Kabir made a very unusual film ‘Kabul Express’ for Yash Raj earlier. This time he’s going all-out to make a commercial film. I think Katrina and I will make a striking pair,’ Neil said.
The one film old Ranbir Kapoor has been more in the news for his romantic liaisons than for his professional feats. The actor, who has recently returned from Australia, was spotted with Katrina Kaif at the launch of a new club in Mumbai.
And although Katrina and Ranbir might say that they are just colleagues working together in Siddharth Anand’s next film one can’t help then question the need to avoid the press or being photographed together. The two stars arrived at the launch together with Kat’s sister Isabella in tow and spent hours chatting to each other at the party. In fact the two, introduced by Kat’s boyfriend Salman during the filming of Saawariya, are great friends and said to thoroughly enjoy each other’s company.
Siddharth Anand is a confident man these days. And he insists the promos of his Bachna Ae Haseeno have generated lot of curiosity. Even though a Yashraj film today doesn’t attract the attention it used to a few years back Anand feels one man with three women on a poster is reason enough to get people excited. We talked to the director about moving from Saif to Ranbir, dealing with the failure of Ta Ra Rum Pum and managing three beauties on one set.
I cannot say with certainty as to who is Pappu, Salman Khan or Aamir Khan? But what I can say is that Aamir Khan loves taking a dig at whoever he wants. It can be Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan or even Amitabh Bachcan.
There were rumours that Pappu, a character in Aamir Khan Productions’ just released film Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na, was actually a dig at Salman Khan who is not very good at dancing. Despite the fact Aamir has denied that it had anything to do with Salman Khan, but still people are sure that the target was in fact Salman.
Amitabh Bachchan had always shared a cordial relationship with Salman Khan till his son Abhishek married Salman’s ex Aishwarya. Since then Big B has been seen to be uncomfortable in the company of Salman. Recently at the music launch of Vipul Shah’s Singh Is Kinng Amitabh slipped out of the party as soon as he spotted Salman walking in.
Amitabh was the chief guest at the music launch and was to do the honours. Salman then walked into the party with lady love Katrina Kaif who plays lead in the movie. Spotting Salman, Amitabh left the party without saying a word to anyone. Salman however enjoyed the party and unveiled the album along with Katrina and others.
The year`s first half has seen a Bollywood running for cover from the box office. Titanic projects sank without a trace and industry infighting ate up whatever dignity was salvaged. The actor faced firing squads and scripts went into the shredder by the dozen. But despite this bleak picture, there remain a few who survived the catastrophe—the `Top 10 of 2008`, the stars with the scars of an unforgiving year!
