The cold war between Shahrukh and Salman seems to be over. Shahrukh made a statement that Salman is his friend, while hosting for IIPM’s Quiz competition. The renewed relations between both Khans get confirmed as Salman’s girlfriend Katrina Kaif will be starring opposite Shahrukh Khan under Yash Raj banner. The war between the two Khan’s started during Katrina’s birthday bash last year.

The film will go to floor in the early months of 2010. It will be sold like a hot cake in the market, as Shahrukh and Katrina will be seen for the first time together on screen. The direction will be given either by Aditya Chopra or ‘New York’ movie’s director Kabir Khan.

Katrina Kaif has said that she is thrilled by the success of New York at the box office.

The movie, which also stars John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh, took Rs 350m (£4.42m) during its opening three-day weekend and entered the UK charts at number nine.

Kaif told ANI: “New York was really one of the most special films for me. It is an amazing story and for me it was such a connected film. I really wanted the film to do well. I am so happy that it did.”

He made his debut in feature films in 2006 with “Kabul Express,” a flawed but absorbing movie set in post-9/11 Afghanistan, just before the ousting of the Taliban regime.

In the aftermath of 9/11, more than 1,200 men, many of South Asian descent, were detained by U.S. authorities, according to the ACLU. Of these, more than 1,000 were released months and years later for lack of evidence.

Kabir Khan’s brisk if formulaic thriller, “New York,” takes a fictional look at the damaged lives of two such men and stands a good chance of earning respectable box-office numbers. Released Friday (June 26), it’s the first big Hindi film since Bollywood’s recently ended two-month strike.

Katrina Kaif looked angelic in a white glittery draped dress at the launch of Spice Entertainment, a new venture of the Spice group, at Hotel Trident.

The Spice mobile ambassador’s empire waist dress had cap sleeves, revealing scoop neckline and a veil cascading down her back.

Katrina, 24, accessorized with pearl chandelier earrings. Her gorgeous long hair, styled in loose curls, draped her right shoulder. She wore pearl pink lip color, pink lip gloss, black eyeliner and sweeps of mascara.

The event featured a fashion show by celebrity designer Suneet Verma for which Kangana Ranaut was the show stopper!

The Censor Board has objected to the use of the ‘F’ word in a dialogue in the Yashraj film New York .

The film, starring John Abraham , Katrina Kaif , Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irrfan Khan , is the story of a bunch of friends whose lives go for a toss after they are arrested as terror suspects following the attacks on the twin towers in New York.

There is a scene in the movie where Irrfan Khan says the ‘F’ word quite loudly.

Katrina Kaif: It is one of the vagueries of the Hindi film industry that an actress like Katrina Kaif, who is born to an Indian-Kashmiri father and a British mother, is right there at the top even though she hardly speaks Hindi. What’s more, she has also done films in Telugu and Malayalam without knowing those languages either! What helps, one supposes is that undoubtedly she is the best looker in the film industry today with a sexy body to match. And also that she has been cast correctly in most of her films as by and large her roles have been fairly undemanding requiring her to look good, wear short dresses, dance a bit and smile sweetly! But to be fair to Katrina, she did carry off a role centred around her in Namastey London (2007) fairly efficiently. She also boasts the best box-office record amongst the actresses of today with most of her recent films doing extremely well at the box-office.
