Katrina Kaif is in more demand than ever, the actress has several films in her kitty, giving her the power to pick and choose her films, but what happens when she rejects an offer from a big Bollywood producer?

Last year the 27 year old actress walked up to filmmaker Karan Johar because she wanted to be cast as a leading lady in the sequel to Dostana, however there wasn’t much Karan could do at this point, as he was waiting on the film’s director, Tarun Mansukhani to finalize the script first.

Thereafter, Katrina Kaif tried her luck in buddy Ayan Mukerjee’s next venture to be produced by the Dharma Production banner, starring good friend Ranbir Kapoor.

Now for the latest, if sources are to be believed, during the time when Katrina Kaif was approached to star in Yash Chopra’s next directorial venture opposite Shahrukh Khan, she noticed some date clashes with Ayan’s film, so as a result Katrina Kaif has now refused Dharma Productions amazing offer.

Sources add, ‘Kat has clearly played favorites and this has reportedly not gone down well with some at Dharma.’

Even though their relationship no longer exists, it looks like Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are still not done with each other.

After signing up for Ek Tha Tiger, Katrina also agreed to do an item number in Salman’s ‘Bodyguard’. Now sources say that the couple will again be seen together in Rensil D’Silva’s next which is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

Even though Katrina and Karan are good friends, the two never got an opportunity to work together anytime in the past. It is learnt that initially Katrina was not able to give dates to Karan when he had approached her for the sequel of ‘Dostana’ and Avan Mukherji’ next. But later on Kat could finally work things out between the two.

“It doesn’t matter whether I am in Karan’s film now or later, or never. He’s a dear friend and I really enjoy his company,” said the actress.

Salman, with his recent successes at the box office like ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Ready’ has now moved on to become one of the most bankable and busy stars.

The movie is said to go on floors early next year.

Last year, Bollywood was abuzz with reports about actor Katrina Kaif going under the knife to get fuller lips, making hers one of the many speculated plastic surgery stories afloat in the industry.

While the actor may have kissed the rumours away with her no comments stance, there’s no denying that her luscious lips have caught the fancy of not only men, but also the women here.

Cosmetic surgeons across the city reveal that the actor has left Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson far behind when it comes to women wanting hot lips. Not only that, Shahid Kapoor’s abs score over Gerard Butler’s torso and Shilpa Shetty’s waistline beats that of Keira Knightley.

When it comes to aping celebs, it’s looking desi all the way for the narcissist.

Renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr Lakshyajit Dhami, who sees an increasing number of women wanting to go in for lip augmentation procedures, says, “Angelina has a sexy pout, but it’s too in the face for women here. So, unless you are a celebrity, women are not too keen on it. But I do see a lot of women hoping to get lips like that of Katrina Kaif.”

Even though well-known cosmetic surgeon Dr Mohan Thomas discourages cosmetic surgery aspirants who demand to look like their favourite celebrity, he does admit that he sees several of them.

“What they don’t realise is that such procedures can repair, not create something new altogether,” he says.

Cosmetic surgeons reveal that there’s a demand also for John Abraham’s derriere, Preity Zinta’s dimples, and Shilpa Shetty’s waistline.

As for the abs, people give a thumbs up to Shahid Kapoor’s lean muscled look and choose that over Aamir Khan’s beefy six-pack abs.

“Since Dostana has released, John’s butt has been a hit with the men. Priyanka Chopra’s pout too is a regular request,” informs Dr Dhami.

Bollywood Diva Aishwarya Rai doesn’t only dominate the film industry but also her relation with Abhishek as the actress has recently asked her hubby not to work with Katrina in any of the films.

Katrina backed out from Abbas-Mustan’s ‘Italian Job’ in which she was paired opposite Abhishek and the rumours behind Kat’s decision are Abhi’s back to back failures at box-office.

And this has not worked for Bachchan family especially wife Ash and thus she asked Abhi to walk out of the venture.

A source close to Ash unveils, “Ash is known to use her influence in deciding her husband’s projects. She has been telling her friends about how Katrina Kaif dumped the Abbas-Mustan film because there was not much for her to do in a film starring Abhishek. Now, she wants Abhishek to avoid Dostana 2.”

While a source close to Kats revealed, “Katrina has been preparing for this role for a long time. If Abhishek were to drop the film at this stage, it would mean rescheduling the shooting again,”

Talking about Katrina, frustrated Abbas said, “Why is there so much noise about Katrina leaving our film? She left because of date problems and she is no longer associated with the film.”

He added, “We are still looking for the female lead and are considering other heroines. It will take us some time to finalise a name.”

If two’s a pair, three’s a crowd! Not really when the three in question happen to be lovely lasses from tinsel town. This glamour galore is going to be in the sequel of Dostana.

We already know that Katrina Kaif is set to play the object of affection of two straight men (Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham) pretending as gays. Now there’s another name being bandied about. That of Deepika Padukone.

It’s certainly getting hotter.

Director Tarun Mansukhani, who is revamping the sequel’s script, is believed to have asked producer Karan Johar to rope in Deepika for the movie, and Karan, quite capable of pulling off casting coups, has apparently discussed the role with the Om Shanti Om actress.

It is learnt that Deepika’s role is not just a cameo; in fact, it’s a significant part in the sequel. Now it has to be seen how Kat reacts to it, given the kind of vibes these two actresses share. And don’t forget that Priyanka Chopra, the original desi girl, will also have a guest appearance in the film.

It’s right when they say some things are ‘written’. Filmmakers have been trying their best to pair together Imran Khan, the new heartthrob of B-town with Katrina Kaif, the matchless beauty of the film industry. But two previous attempts to bring together the duo have come to naught.

But Katrina and Imran seems to have got third time lucky. The two have been roped in for a romantic movie to be produced by Yashraj Films and directed by first-timer Ali Abbas Zafar. Ali has been working with YRF for years and has assisted in films like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Tashan and Badmaash Company.

Ali has himself written the script of the new film which will go on the floors in a month’s time.

Previously, directors Sanjay Gadhvi and Dibakar Banerjee have tried to pair up Imran and Katrina. But Gadhvi’s film got shelved and Dibakar roped in Emraan Hashmi for his movie.

The casting coup became possible for YRF’s next because Dostana 2 has been postponed and Katrina had bulk dates, which she decided to give to the Yashraj project.

Buzz is that Katrina Kaif’s character in director Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan is modelled on the Madhuri Dixit. The actress vehemently denies the rumour and says, “I’m playing a struggling actress who expresses every emotion over the top.”

“I’m quite a drama queen in the film.” Kaif  accepted the role to add more variety to her list of assignments. “I don’t want the audience to get bored watching me play the same kind of roles. A producer saw the rushes of Tees Maar Khan and jumped out of his seat.

He couldn’t believe that I’m the same actress in Raajneeti. And the credit for that goes to Farah,” elaborates Kaif.

It’s also said that a song picturised on Kaif draws heavily from La Dixit’s Dhak dhak number from Beta. “Farah treats songs in her distinct style. I look up to Madhuri as an actress. For me, her performance and screen presence are an inspiration,” Kaif explains.

The actress is also excited about her belly-dancing track, Sheela ki jawani, which Khan has added to the movie. It will be shot later next month. Kaif is currently working with Zoya Akhtar on Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara in Spain. The film will release after Tees Maar Khan opens in December.

When quizzed Kaif about which lady director she prefers more, she says, “Their styles of presentation are completely different from each other. Farah presents women very elegantly depending on the character.

Zoya perceives them as strong characters. As women, they’re able to point out the nuances very well, especially Zoya.”  The Raajneeti actress is also looking forward to Tarun Manshukhani’s Dostana sequel with Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham.

Reportedly, the actors are more keen to work with each other than the actress. Kaif shrugs, “I’m very happy. Tarun is excited about the way the story shapes up in Dostana 2. My role sounded interesting too.”

It’s also said that director duo, Abbas-Mustan, plan to cast her in their version of The Italian Job, also featuring Abhishek Bachchan and Neil Mukesh. “I’ve never believed in talking about my discussions with producers and directors till the projects aterialize,” states Kaif, pointing out, “Sometimes, lengthy discussions don’t lead up to anything. It makes more sense to talk about projects once they flag off.”

If your hunger to see Katrina Kaif and John Abraham together was whetted with the duo’s onscreen romance in New York, here’s some good news. You won’t have to wait long to see them bill and coo again.

The duo was set to begin shooting Dostana 2 anytime soon but the film has now been put off till 2011 because director Tarun Mansukhani isn’t happy with the script. But don’t be sad, fellas. With both John and Katrina’s dates free, director Vipul Amrutlal Shah has seized the opportunity and is set to begin his remake of the Tamil hit Kaakha Kaakha with Nishikant Kamat (of Mumbai Meri Jaan) as its director.

Vipul has already finalized John. Now, he’s pursuing Katrina to play the leading lady. Reports say Katrina has already come aboard, but we are waiting for the confirmation.

The film is an action thriller about a cop intent on wiping out crime from the city.

If John and Kat indeed pair up for this one, and for Dostana sequel next year, the fans of the two stars won’t have any complaints. Rather, that would be double delight.

But the pretty lady is in no mood to get typecast. Even as she shoots for director Zoya Akhtar’s film Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara in Spain, the actress says she’s itching to do a mushy romantic movie like the ones Yash Chopra is known to make.

“In fact, right now, I would love to have a one boy-one girl Yashji type of love story in hand or, say, play a loud, boisterous girl – something on the lines of Hemaji’s role in Seeta Aur Geeta,” Katrina is quoted as saying by a news agency.

The 25-year-old beauty, who will also replace Priyanka Chopra as the leading lady of Dostana sequel, says she doesn’t want to limit herself to a particular kind of roles.

“There are a lot of sides to me that are yet to be tapped,” she said.
