Salman Khan may have cast Zarine Khan as the princess in Veer, but it is his real-life girl (Katrina Kaif), remains unfazed.

Katrina is Karan Johar’s celebrity guest this week on Sony’s Lift Kara De… and she did ‘lift’ the show.

She is fun, she is sporting and for once she isn’t all that politically correct.

To Karan’s probing questions there were candid answers.

When Karan asked Kat, who are the people who helped the 19-year-old model when she landed in Mumbai without knowing a soul in the city, she said: ‘Salman Khan, his family and friends looked after me’.

After making a not so dream debut Zarine Khan seems to have struck gold. Her resemblance to Katrina Kaif seems to be working in her favour and if grapevine is to be believed she has replaced Katrina from the sequel of the 2007 hit Partner. The David Dhawan directed movie stared Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Govinda and Lara Dutta.

Zarine Khan remains tight lipped about the project and says it is to early for her to disclose anything. Even film’s director David Dhawan says it is too early to talk about the cast of the movie which is expected to start shooting this year. Well, Zarine Khan will be on Cloud Nine and why not as not every body double gets a leading role in Bollywood.

Katrina Kaif who is recognized as the Barbie Doll of Bollywood has not charge a single penny for her item number.

According to news; ‘Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya’ the first Hit film of the Katrina Kaif was directed by David Dhawan and was the production of AshtaVinayak.

‘Blue’ film of Katrina Kaif was also from the banner of AshtaVinayak and just for the friendly relation she had accepted the role of an item girl free of cost.

According to sources, Katrina has played some short scenes and also sang a song in the movie ‘Blue’ free of charge.

After a slew of out and out comedies like Namastey London, Partner and Singh Is Kinng, Katrina Kaif is now working on two “difficult” films - Prakash Jha’s political drama Rajneeti and Rajkumar Santoshi’s romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani- and the actress wants to devote extra time and thought to the projects.

“This year I would like to allocate time to big films. The kind of films I am doing - Rajneeti and Ajab Prem… are a little more difficult. They need time and also a little more thought process,” said Katrina. The films are slated for release this year.
