Malaika Arora Khan postponed her New Year vacation with husband Arbaaz Khan, when an entertainment group offered her a large undisclosed sum for her anthem like Munni gig at Amby Valley. Katrina Kaif, on the other hand, has refused to dance to her Sheila ki Jawaani number from Tees Maar Khan.

Says a source close to Kaif, “A suburban luxury hotel offered her Rs 3.5 crores for the gig. Frankly, Katrina was tempted. But she backed out in time.”

Munni and Sheila are Salman Khan’s sister-in-law Malaika and former girlfriend Katrina Kaif respectively. The stunning ladies, never close friends but cordial enough to be called civil acquaintances, have revealed a contrasting attitude to their dance numbers.

Kaif screams in protest. “Are you crazy? I am not dancing at any hotel on New Year’s eve. To be entertaining a live audience that night instead of enjoying oneself as another year slips in – how sad is that! It’s almost like you are telling the audience, ‘Hey guys, I don’t have a life.’

It’s true I am not going on my annual family holiday, but the reason is not a lucrative dance offer.”

Interestingly, last year Kaif was almost dragged to court for opting out of a New Year’s eve performance at a luxury hotel in Mumbai. This year, she was adamant. No dancing for drunken revelers on December 31.

After Katrina Kaif walked out from the Italian Job remake, leaving the director duo Abbas-Mastan in the lurch, news of Sonam Kapoor stepping into the breach started doing the rounds. But now, the buzz is that the directors have approached Sonkashi Sinha for the role.

If Sonakshi says yes to the project then she will share screen space with Abhishek Bachchan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bobby Deol.

The girl who is touted as the next big thing in Bollywood has already bagged Arbaaz Khan’s next and has also been signed opposite Salman Khan in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick, which is a remake of a south hit, claim sources.

Sajid was initially thinking of roping in Deepika Padukone for the film but as Sonakshi is backed by the powerful Khan who is recommending her to producers, Kick might also see Sallu-Sonakshi pair.

Those who think that Malaika Arora was roped in at the last minute to do the raunchy item song Munni Badnaam Hui in Dabangg after Katrina Kaif turned down the song, here’s a clarification from none other than the movie’s lead actor Salman Khan.

Admitting that he loved working with Malaika, who is the wife of his younger brother Arbaaz Khan, Salman said Katrina was never considered for the song.

The superstar also spoke about how the project came into being, from scripting stages, to choosing the director Abhinav Kashyap and the film’s music.

Salman added that he enjoyed working with Sonakshi Sinha who makes her debut with the film set for release on September 10.

Heard this?? Katrina Kaif, the sizzling hot oomph queen of bollywood who was set to record her performance for an award function was made to wait the whole night by her beau Salman Khan and ‘Kaminey’ Shahid Kapur, making Kat furious with rage.

Katrina was seen leaving the Yashraj studios in the morning after canning her act at around six, while she had been there from the evening and was expected to go for other work. Sources present at the venue say that it all started because of Salman Khan, who came directly from Wai where he had been shooting for Arbaaz Khan’s ambitious flick ‘Dabang’ opposite newbie Sonakshi Sinha. As Katrina was already present there, Salman Khan’s presence was initially taken as a supportive gesture for his ladylove.

However, soon everything changed when Salman Khan insisted on completing his act before Katrina Kaif, fully knowing the fact that he had not even rehearsed the number. But then Salman Khan is Salman and nobody dares to argue with him. Dancers were called in immediately, dresses were arranged for the macho hero and till the time his performance was okayed, it was already past midnight.

But Katrina Kaif’s ordeal did not end here as Shahid Kapur’s episode was yet to come. The ‘Kaminey’ actor who had already performed live for the award function suddenly felt that it was not up to the mark and he should again do it for the television junta.

Now, Shahid Kapur, too, wanted to complete his task before Katrina Kaif could even start her performance. There was no other way out for Katrina, but to wait for Shahid Kapur’s performance to end and by that time it was already early in the morning. In the end, Katrina got her chance and left immediately after completing the task but it was already six in the morning and she was seen leaving with some furious muttering voice from the venue.

In the meantime, the makers of Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Rajneeti’ have decided to go whole hog for the publicity of the flick before its release. Even Katrina Kaif is said to be very excited about the flick as she plays a different character in the flick and expects it to establish her as an actress of substance who can enact serious roles as easily as glam doll roles in her films.

In any case, Katrina Kaif’s prestige has further risen after she was signed for Lux soap, brand replacing stunning beauty Aishwarya Rai. Sources say that Katrina Kaif is the latest to join the Lux brand wagon, which has traditionally been associated with big heroines of the tinsel town.

We reported recently about Katrina Kaif walking the ramp in a dress with one of the famous paintings by her boyfriend Salman Khan. No doubt, she looked cool in it at the Being Human show, HDIL India Couture Week 2009, but surprisingly, she hate the dress.

Salman revealed that Katrina didn’t appreciate the dress with his painting though she enjoyed being part of the show. In spite of her dislike for his paintings, he is determined to do what he loves – painting.

Being Human charity show at the HDIL India Couture Week 2009 witnessed actors like Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan walking the ramp for the cause.

His elder brother Salman Khan has helped him in almost everything he has done till date.

Right from Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya to Hello, Salman has featured in most of Arbaaz’s films to give them a push. And now that Arbaaz has decided get into production, brother Salman is again there for him.

“ Yes, Salman has been finalised as the lead actor for my film,” says a happy Arbaaz. He, however, did not give away the name of the lead actress, but said he has someone in mind.

There are rumours that it’s Katrina Kaif, Salman’s girlfriend.

Arbaaz, who has not been able to make it big as an actor in tinsel town, feels production is his calling. He also says he is still passionate about acting and hopes to do a film or two in future.

He also plans to venture into direction someday. We are sure Salman would be a part of that too and hope his career as a producer does better than his acting career.
