It’s common knowledge that Katrina has only a cameo role in Blue but people start expecting more of her following the director’s claim that her seven-minute performance is its USP. So, what puzzles the people who follow Bollywood closely is that, she has been sidelined as far as publicity is concerned. It’s Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta, who have stolen the limelight.

Before you give your imaginations a wilder side, it must be clearly explained. The much awaited movie of hit makers Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif who have given several hits together have teamed up with Sanjay Dutt and Lara Dutta to bring in ‘Blue’ which is expected of great money-extracting potentials.

Academy award winner AR Rahman fuelled up Mumbai to present the first glimpse of ‘Blue’ at Cinemax in a grand media event. Sound expert Resul Pookuty, Director Anthony D’Souza and Producer Dhilin Mehta were also in attendance to deliver a unique ‘Sound Promo’ of the film.

I’m the first Indian Barbie: Katrina

katrinakaif9jan2008British-born actress Katrina Kaif, whose face will now adorn Barbie dolls, says contrary to what people believe her Barbie is not an Indian counterpart of the international brand. She also feels that in many ways it’s an endorsement of how kids connect with her.

“I’d call it a fun honour. To have your face on dolls that you’ve played with from childhood is quite flattering. We’ve been in negotiation for nearly six months. It finally came together for the 50-year celebration of Barbie,” said Katrina.

No more comic capers for Kat!

iifa-katrina-kaif-11After a slew of out and out comedies like “Namastey London”, “Partner” and “Singh Is Kinng”, Katrina Kaif is now working on two “difficult” films – Prakash Jha’s political drama “Rajneeti” and Rajkumar Santoshi’s romantic comedy “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani”- and the actress wants to devote extra time and thought to the projects.

“This year I would like to allocate time to big films. The kind of films I am doing – ‘Rajneeti’ and ‘Ajab Prem…’ are a little more difficult. They need time and also a little more thought process,” said Katrina. The films are slated for release this year.

Blue makers want more of Katrina!

katrina-kaif1Following recent developments, Katrina Kaif will do more than a mere item number in Shree Ashtavinayak’s Blue.

Says a source in the Blue unit, “Initially, Katrina was only supposed to do an item song but going by her market viability, the film’s makers have increased her role in Blue to a special appearance. Katrina shot for her extended role for 10 days in Bangkok last year.”
