Dressed in cotton saris and speaking chaste Hindi, this is a challenging role that she’s looking forward to. But the Hindi is passe now for the actress, whose accented Hindi meant that her many early films had to be dubbed.

Though it was all done to promote the upcoming flick ‘Rajneeti’, which had her playing the part of a lady politician much like Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Katrina is said to have develop a liking for the sweet lingo and is trying to learn it from her colleagues in the industry.

Once bitten twice shy – that’s Katrina Kaif for you. The scene in Kabir Khan’s New York, where she kissed her co-star, still seems to haunt her. Now, she has declared loud and clear that she wouldn’t kiss or wear bikini in the future.

Sources said that Katrina turned down the demands of the directors, who were very keen to see her kiss her co-stars. She is a conservative at heart, and so she cunningly refused to bow down to the directors’ cliché statement ’script demands it’. After Ranbir Kapoor signed up with Panasonic to promote their television sets, it is now Katrina Kaif’s turn to promote washing machines from the same brand. Although the actress has not yet shot for the television commercial, Kats has shot for the print campaign, which is already out.

A brand manager of an advertising agencies in Mumbai, declared, “Brand managers are forever looking out for a good pairing. Saif and Kareena were signed for the Airtel digital campaign, while Ash and Abhishek were roped in for the Lux commercial. The latest buzz word in the ad circle is the pairing of Ranbir and Katrina. The two have a hit film under their belt, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, so it helps us to take the pairing to the next level.”

A source tells us, ‘Katrina Kaif had New York, Blue, Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani and De Dana Dan as her releases in 2009, out of which Ajab and New York were big hits. She was nominated for her natural performance in New York but Vidya Balan beat her to it in the Critics’ category. Katz felt it unfair that her achievement, that of maximum hits in one year, was going unrecognized. She was scheduled to perform for the televised version of the event but she was upset and felt left out.’
